Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how QR Studio ("App", "we", "our") handles information when you use our application. We are committed to your privacy and are fully transparent about how the App works.

1. Information We Collect

We do not create user accounts and do not collect personal identifiers such as your name, email address, location, or contacts.

QR Studio works entirely on your device. All QR code and barcode generation, scanning, decoration, and storage happens locally. No content you create or scan is transmitted to any server.

2. How the App Works

QR Studio uses your device's hardware and Apple's built-in frameworks (CoreImage, AVFoundation, Vision) to generate and scan QR codes and barcodes — entirely offline.

  • QR & Barcode Generation — computed on-device using CoreImage. Nothing leaves your device.
  • Scanning — processed on-device using AVFoundation and Vision. Scanned content is never uploaded.
  • Decoration — colour transformations applied locally via Metal/GPU. No images are sent anywhere.
  • History & Favourites — stored in your app's private sandbox on your device using local file storage. This data never leaves your device.

3. Device Permissions

The App requests the following permissions for specific features:

PermissionPurpose
Camera        Scanning QR codes and barcodes in real time
Photo Library (Read)        Selecting an image from your photos to scan or decorate
Photo Library (Write)        Saving generated QR codes and barcodes to your camera roll

You can manage these permissions at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security on your device. Denying a permission disables only the related feature; the rest of the App continues to work.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

If you choose to subscribe to QR Studio Pro:

  • All payments are processed entirely through the Apple App Store.
  • We do not collect, process, or store any payment or billing information.
  • Apple manages all transaction data under their own Privacy Policy.

5. Third-Party Services

QR Studio integrates only Apple's own frameworks and the App Store. We do not integrate any analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or cloud backends.

ServicePurpose            Privacy Policy
Apple App Store                    Payments & subscriptions               apple.com/legal/privacy
  Apple StoreKit 2                Subscription validation (on-device)               apple.com/legal/privacy

6. Analytics & Tracking

  • We do not use analytics tools that track individual user behaviour.
  • We do not track you across apps or websites.
  • We do not serve ads of any kind.
  • We do not use cookies, device fingerprinting, or the Apple IDFA.

7. Data Storage & Security

All data the App generates (history items, favourites, QR images) is stored in your device's private app sandbox, protected by iOS's built-in encryption and your device's security features (Face ID, Touch ID, passcode).

We have no servers that hold your data, so there is nothing to breach on our end.

8. Children's Privacy

QR Studio does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Because no data leaves your device, no personal information is collected from any user, regardless of age.

9. Your Rights

Because we do not store any personal data on external servers, there is no information of yours to access, correct, export, or delete on our end. All App data lives on your device and can be deleted at any time by removing the App.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When we do:

  • The "Last Updated" date at the top will be revised.
  • Significant changes will be communicated via an in-app notice.
  • Your continued use of the App after updates are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

11. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of your country of residence.
