Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I cancel my subscription? Open the App Store app on your Mac, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, click Manage, find PDF Studio, and select Cancel Subscription. You will retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period.

Q: I was charged but didn't get Pro access. What do I do? First, open the app, open the Upgrade to Pro screen, and tap Restore Purchases at the bottom. If the issue persists, contact us at support.hamna@gmail.com with your Apple ID and we'll resolve it promptly.

Q: How do I restore my purchases on a new Mac? Open the app, tap the "Upgrade to Pro" banner in the sidebar (or Settings → Restore Purchases), and tap Restore Purchases. Your subscription will unlock automatically once verified with your Apple ID.

Q: The app is crashing or not working properly. What should I do? Try the following steps:

  1. Close and reopen the app
  2. Restart your Mac
  3. Update the app to the latest version from the App Store
  4. Check that you've granted access to the folder you're exporting to, if prompted
  5. Reinstall the app if the issue persists

If none of these work, email us with your Mac model and macOS version.

Q: How do I request a refund? Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request one.

Q: Is my data private? Mostly, yes — with one specific exception worth knowing about. PDF Studio does not create accounts and does not collect personal information. Most tools (merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, cropping, watermarking, adding page numbers, signing, protecting/unlocking, comparing, and converting to/from images) run entirely on your Mac — nothing is uploaded to us or to any third party for these. Seven tools — converting PDF to/from Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, and PDF to PDF/A — use CloudConvert, a third-party conversion service, since these specific conversions need a conversion engine Apple's on-device frameworks don't provide; the file you select for one of these is uploaded to CloudConvert only for that conversion, automatically deleted from their servers within 24 hours, and never seen by us. Q: What's included with Pro? Pro subscribers get:

  • Unlimited use of every tool — no free-tier limits (the free tier includes 2 free uses for most on-device tools, 5 free uses for Image to PDF and PDF to Image, and 1 free use for tools that convert to/from Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF/A; Merge PDF and Organize Pages count as a single use no matter how many files you combine into one job)
  • Full batch processing with no per-run limits
  • Cancel anytime
